General Summary:

Responsible to drive, own and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels of goods to minimize the use of warehousing space and maximize inventory turns without compromising customer service levels. Responsible to strategically design and implement inventory control processes, cycle counting processes and associated ERP systems. Responsible for directing and leading initiatives of inventory management operations including physical inventory planning, cycle counting, stock accuracy and control methodologies. Partnering with cross functional teams to ensure effective and disciplined planning of materials and components to meet current and future needs of the business. Lead the S&OP process for Canadian marketed sku’s to ensure customer demands are met with the appropriate levels of supply. Lead the strategic review of obsolescence inventory with commercial to find channels of minimizing write-off. Develop strategies to improve on inventory accuracy in all Brampton warehouses.


Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement of all aspects of SAP master data. Lead strategic projects; including identifying key stakeholders, gaining buy-in and commitment, and managing a plan to hit milestone dates. Responsible for reporting data for SOX audits in a timely fashion. Responsible for on - time introduction of art readiness for commercial coordinating the efforts of all business functions involved in the creation, management and control of artworks specifically Regulatory Affairs/Commercial/Supply Chain in order to plan in detail the various steps in the artwork process to get the artwork revised/approved on time as per business need. Responsible for delivering accurate sales forecasts and creating final consensus forecast in collaboration with the commercial team for Sun and Taro.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to review backorder report and perform root cause analysis.
  • Lead Sales and Operations meetings with the Canadian team.
  • To ensure timely escalation and addressing any issues with internal and external stakeholders to ensure artwork amendments are done on time.
  • Coordinate shipments, inventory movements, customs processes and samples request for QA/QC & 3PL
  • Collaborate with procurement and planning team to manage inventory targets and safety stock levels.
  • Responsible for managing expired raw materials and track materials expiring in rolling 12 weeks to support production planning.
  • Inventory Management - analyze products with risk of obsolescence and propose opportunity to sales team in order to maximize financial achievement
  • Month-End Analysis – current inventory and projections for finished goods and materials, excess/slow moving/obsolete, destruction.
  • Annual verification of Item Master. Ensure APO and ECC Master Data alignment.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement by brainstorming with cross functional team members.
  • Responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels for non-inventory items and to pro-actively flag to the procurement team when re-supply is needed.
  • To attend S&OP meetings with plants to confirm supply on track.
  • To analyze forecast statistics to create consensus demand.
  • Provide leadership and support on day to day operations of supply chain.
  • Responsible to manage third party purchases and supply.
  • Create and manage monthly destruction reports.
  • Responsible for Canadian Finished goods short dated analysis and ensure the inventory is in the right buckets.
  • Monthly review of non-nettable inventory. Responsible for monitoring inventory on “hold”. Coordinate with QA/ QC to review and action inventory on -hold.
  • Contribute to the artwork creation/revision process by carrying out steps in the artwork development cycle
  • Quarterly review of SOX requirements to ensure procedures reflects current practices.
  • Create quarterly cycle count accuracy reports.
  • Collaborate with Sun Supply team to ensure a continuous supply of committed inventory
  • Generate and publish monthly dashboards for corporate on inventory performance indicators, be able to interpret them, explain them and find ways to correct problematic situations by measuring the evolution of results.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance to identify priorities for release of Finished Goods inventory to avoid market shortages or excess inventory
  • Create weekly Cycle count sheets for warehouse. Investigate over tolerance issues and the creation of NCI where required.
  • To provide oversight, control and priority management for all activities concerned with the development of artwork for packaging material.
  • Responsible for preparing, analyzing and maintaining relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process and S&OP.
  • Product Launches – initiate and support strategic product launches to meet corporate timelines using project management techniques.
  • Responsible for creating and managing Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in SAP.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum University education (Bachelors degree in Business management/ Engineering/ Having Master’s degree is an asset)
  • Strong communication skills in order to converse intelligently and appropriately with senior management, subordinates and colleagues
  • Demonstrated leadership to see a longer term view, develop an action plan to get there and effectively influence others to support the effort
  • SAP knowledge of software functionality and data extraction.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Project, Outlook EDI, Tableau, SAP ECC and APO
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain processes ideally in the generics pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in Operations, Materials Management, Production Planning.


Background and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Problem solving skills
  • 10+ years’ experience in supply chain in a pharmaceutical or food industry
  • Experience in interfacing and interacting with diverse business groups


Problem Solving:

  • Ability to perform in depth inventory investigations for purposes of reconciliation
  • Ability to analyze costs in order to reduce operating costs while maintaining or improving efficiencies
  • Ability to evaluate processes in order to determine root causes of deficiencies
