Manager - Government Affairs And Public Policy

Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Manager - Government Affairs and Public Policy to work in Ottawa, ON. In this role you will be responsible for setting and implementing regulatory and related advocacy strategies in partnership with the Canada Government Affairs and Public Policy team and internal stakeholders. The role requires experience in government, politics and technology policy issues, strong written and oral communication skills, and an ability to explain complex technical and policy issues. Responsibilities:

• Track regulations, legislation and policy proposals and analyze their potential impact on Google's products and business.
• Engage directly with stakeholders in policy areas that impact Google and our users, including technology innovation, cybersecurity, free expression, privacy, artificial intelligence and intellectual property.
• Develop and lead public policy campaigns across policy areas that impact Google and the Internet.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Familiarity with policy issues affecting the tech sector or the key issues impacting the web (i.e. innovation and entrepreneurship policy, intellectual property, STEM, free expression, data protection, telecom/media policy).
• BA / BS required. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.
• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
• Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal, networking and presentation skills.
• 7-10 years of relevant work experience, including time spent working in government, a regulatory agency, politics, government relations and/or the corporate or public interest world in Canada is required

• Ability to think, plan, and execute with minimal direction and supervision.
• Enthusiastic team player with the ability to work with people from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
• Ability to translate complex issues into understandable language for a broad range of audiences.
