Job Description
Adecco is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our reputable client, a member of the Assembly of First Nations, as a permanent, full-time Lands and Resources Manager in Gold River, BC. As the Lands and Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all operations related to lands and natural resources usage, ensuring sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. This leadership position will involve managing a diverse team, including forestry research and surveillance, GIS referrals, lands use plans, fisheries roles, and researchers.


  • Job type: Full-time | Permanent
  • Relocation assistance is provided, if not presently a resident of Gold River, BC. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review, report and advise on recommended actions to defend lands, water and fish from detrimental activities.
  • Experience working with First Nations and/or a combination of education and experience facilitating programs and funding applications through Federal and Provincial programs.
  • Respond to development referrals and address with aboriginal rights as needed.
  • Able to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professionalism in all activities.
  • Bachelor of Science, Forestry or a diploma/degree in Natural Sciences in combination with experience will be considered.
  • Supervise lands department staff, including hiring, development, mentorship and addressing performance management issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the fisheries coordinator to ensure monitoring and reporting of all fisheries programs are carried out in a timely manner.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this role.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with staff and representatives of other agencies and organizations.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking.
  • Location: Gold River, BC
  • Maintain professional growth and development by participating in approved conferences and training opportunities when relevant to job duties. Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Oversee research and archaeology projects and staff.
  • Seek and source out funding for lands projects, including writing and submitting grants and reports.
  • Must have strong experience applying for funding from various federal and government organizations.

  • Draft correspondence to local governments and attend meetings as it relates to lands and natural resources.
  • Experience managing staff including discipline and termination when needed.
  • Oversee the coordination of fisheries assessments.
