We are looking for a junior engineer who is detailed oriented, has experience with CAD, and more importantly aligns with our team values (Service, Quality, Consult, Safety, Share). This position is based in British Columbia, reports to our project manager, and will be participate in the engineering analysis design of several transmission and distribution projects for our utility clients in the Northern and Western Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Compile data for including survey data and maps, requires an understanding of technical specification and drawings.
• Communicate technical information and design clearly and concisely to project team, and write design reports summarizing results for the client.
• Create project documentation in AutoCAD including site maps, drawings, tables, specifications, and standards
• Complete design analyses including pole loading analysis in PLS-CADD
• Develop engineering design solutions in conjunction with a Professional Engineer
• Maintain project files and participate in project meetings as required
• Coordinate with subcontractors (e.g. surveyors) and clients to meet project schedule in a timely fashion

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, in English – can brief senior management on design issues in a clear and concise manner
• Proven ability to work in AutoCAD and familiarity with design standards
• Ability to work independently to progress work and take initiative to problem-solve when a challenge is encountered
• Excellent use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Registered or ability to be registered as an Engineering in Training (EIT)
• 1+ years of experience working in an engineering design role
• Detailed oriented and curious – can notice a detail in the design that you don’t understand and ask about it
