About the Position:


The Buyer is responsible for the material management of Durabuilt’s accounts and providing strategic support to internal business partners. As a Buyer, you will work closely and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to support production planning. Specializing in material requirements planning (MRP), the Buyer is distinguished by a higher designated purchasing authority with increased complexity and independent judgement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and manage contracts and purchase orders.
  • Ensure accurate inventory numbers and costing in our ERP system for all materials and supplies used in production.
  • Maintain files, records, and documents pertaining to all purchasing activities.
  • Will be the Purchasing Representative for the IMS Annual Audit.
  • Drive continuous improvement in material costs by identifying, prioritizing and driving cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain primary accountability for material forecast, including adequate lead times.

  • Strategize and negotiate favourable purchasing terms and address supplier issues regularly with material quality and/or availability.
  • Coordinate with all departments and appropriate suppliers to obtain the best quality of materials and services at the lowest overall cost.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal business partners.
  • Actively manage vendor relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration to identify win-win solutions.
  • Maintain cost-effective inventory levels band to prevent stock out.
  • Manage and coordinate all vendor credits with a turnover time no greater than 30 days.
  • Collaborate with scheduling and production team members to meet daily plant production targets.
  • Mentor and develop fellow team members to build overall team capabilities.


Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
  • Good human relations and excellent verbal/written communication skills are required, along with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to lead, delegate and provide strategic guidance to buying team members.
  • Able to prioritize and drive results with a high emphasis on quality.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Supply Chain / Procurement or Similar
  • Awareness of commonly used Windows & Doors materials, permanent/non-permanent materials, services, tools, and equipment.
  • 2 - 3 plus years of experience in buying/purchasing practices, MRP, and purchasing under a lean manufacturing system. (Supply Chain freshers are welcome to apply).
  • Experience developing templates for contracts and other business transactions.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superior internal and external client experience.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate cost-effective vendor agreements.
