Job Description
Education and/or Experience:


University degree in Business Operations, Supply Chain Management, or some similar discipline and 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment, OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience.


Skills:


  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, open work environment with minimal supervision; self-motivated.
  • Able to organize and maintain a system of records.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, inventory management, production control methods and demand flow technology principles.
  • Able to solve problems and make decisions while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to use goals to guide actions; manage multiple projects; organize tasks.
  • Computer literate in Windows, EXCEL, and other Microsoft Office products
  • Able to work closely with other departments, display team spirit, promote a friendly group working environment.
  • Ability to function in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Able to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data.
  • Able to deal effectively with frequent change and unexpected events; managing transitions from task to task.


Responsibilities/Roles:


  • Other duties as required by business conditions.
  • Support company-wide goals for on-time delivery to customer request dates
  • Escalates and reviews all critical supply issues with Purchasing Manager
  • Calculating and providing accounting department WIP labour accruals at each month-end including actual shelter labour.
  • Responsible for the quality of finished products and reporting impediments to quality.
  • Reviews direct material demand, coordinates a plant focused inventory strategy
  • Evaluates planned order requirements and initiates purchase orders
  • Processing engineering changes as they pertain to inventory and production.
  • Reporting hit/miss statistics each month-end for On-Time delivery analysis.
  • Responsible for scheduling crating and sizing crates for shipments.
  • Procurement of direct and indirect material in designated areas of responsibility.
  • Resolve supplier delivery and quality issues. Evaluates supplier performance and initiates corrective action
  • Administration and distribution of schedules.
  • Manage the relationships and performance of the supply chain base
  • Responsible for annual of verification of WIP.
  • Responsible for working in a safe manner and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Responsible for scheduling manufacturing orders to the production floor based on MRP, customer/spare parts demand, and capacity.
  • Communicates and escalates materials supply issues and works effectively with Operations and Sales to ensure production schedules and customer shipments are achieved.
  • Responsible for working closely with warehouse personnel, assisting with picking priorities and discrepancies with transactions, shorts, and on-hand quantity issues.
  • Responsible for learning and complying with AMETEK’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Processing new orders through Laserfiche.
  • Responsible for contributing to AMETEK’s Continual Improvement Program and ISO requirements.
  • Negotiates purchase price terms and conditions with suppliers
  • Processing disposition reports for non-conforming product, including 1) creation of non-standard manufacturing orders for rework, testing, and warranty and 2) locating and dealing with potentially non-conforming product in WIP.
