Junior Accounting Clerk Jobs

Our Winnipeg office is seeking a Junior Accounting Clerk to provide support to finance staff in the office for a six-month term.This full-time position assists the accounts payable/trust team with keying, scanning, organizing and filing paperwork and circulating the firm to seek signatures and delivering signed cheques. The assistance for the accounts receivable team includes timely and accurate processing of a high volume of daily client payments via cheque as well as online payments such as electronic funds transfer, wire payment and direct deposit. The position requires communication with both external and internal customers (including lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants) to ensure accuracy of transactions.*Responsibilities include:** Scanning and filing documents* Obtaining signatures on cheques during daily cheque runs and delivering signed cheques around office* Handling cheques and bank deposits* Reviewing online banking information for payment amounts and details* Processing payments received from clients against their outstanding accounts within firm service standards* Capturing payment details for electronic storage* Addressing internal and external account inquiries*Qualifications include:** Professional individual with at least one year of related experience or equivalent education* Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner* Strong organizational and administrative skills* Strong attention to detail* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)* Experience in a professional services firm considered an asset*We offer:** A competitive salary depending on experience*Our diversity statement:*MLT Aikins is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building an inclusive and diverse work environment.
