What is the Opportunity?

This is a Junior Digital Product Owner position at Royal Bank of Canada. Digital Product Owners in our team define and help deliver technology projects for the RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) line of business and for the operations teams that support that line of business. RBC Global Asset Management is part of RBC Wealth Management, the largest full-service wealth manager in Canada.

What will you do?

• Follow administrative processes related to application onboarding, maintenance and releases
• Proactively lead and coordinate team efforts towards successful initiatives
• Assess and communicate the impact of changes considering time, effort, and business tactical and strategic goals
• Prepare and deliver presentations to business partners and senior management
• Deliver projects and work requests in Agile and Iterative Waterfall project frameworks
• Build and maintain a reusable knowledge base to support future initiatives, following RBC GAM standards
• System’s analysis
• Act as Junior Product Owner for in-house built applications, defining road maps and value-based priorities for the Agile squad
• Create artifacts, including user stories, data models, context and process flow diagrams and prototypes

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

• Previous experience in a technology team within the financial services industry
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Analytical skills with keen attention to detail
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills, including conflict resolution
• Passion for learning, curiosity, and can-do attitude

Nice-to-have:

• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and change control
• Working knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, data visualizations, entity relationship diagrams, and other data modelling techniques
• Agile, PMI, ITIL certifications
• Knowledge to understand and discuss the building blocks of a technology solution
