Job Summary
The Jr. Grower Liaison is responsible for functions that include grower visits; touring packhouse facilities and greenhouses, to ensure that product packing specifications are met. This role will support the Senior Grower Liaison in managing all growers and product suppliers, their qualities and volume of product, to ensure the needs of the company sales goals are consistently met. The liaison will maintain a network of current and potential growers, focusing on increasing quality and acreage representation. This position works to establish and build strong relationships with growers, and as a company representative, they will ensure that there is mutual respect, above all else.
Duties And Responsibilities

• Track grower projections and accuracy.
• Report all food safety and quality concerns to personnel with authority.
• Ensure new and existing growers are food safety certified and compliant with company standards.
• Regularly travel to inspect growing operations and greenhouses.
• Regular communication with the procurement department and growers; ensure quality and volume of product meets sales targets.
• Stay current and continually update knowledge of company standards and product specifications.
• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with both internal and external customers and growers.
• Other core expectations as defined by the company.
• Support negotiations with packhouse staff and growers to ensure adherence to company specifications.

Requirements And Skills

• Intermediate level in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
• Valid ‘G’ License and access to a well-maintained vehicle to be used for travel between growing operations; mileage reimbursement provided.
• Experience with FAMOUS® software
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and PrimusGFS programs.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; proficiency in both verbal and written knowledge.
• Proven ability to work in a high-stress and fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills are essential; results oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workflow.
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in produce or agriculture preferred.
• Commitment to high professional and ethical standards; sound decision making skills.
• Post-secondary education preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or relevant field is an asset.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Working conditions

• Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; role requires flexibility.
• The position requires the ability to regularly lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds.
• Ability and willingness to travel; must hold a valid passport without any travel restrictions.
• Role requires the ability to listen and speak to others.
• Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; the employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods.
• This job operates in a hot, high humidity environment where temperatures average 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but may increase to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summertime. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation.
• Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time may be required.
