Intermediate Design Engineer Jobs

The Design Engineer will be the engineering expert on the product-line, responsible for normal design activities associated with downhole tools, technical support for customer inquiries and manufacturing.
Essential Job Responsibilities

• Perform sustaining engineering activities for continuous improvement of existing products
• Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Make decisions concerning the development and implementation of tools and technologies
• Other duties as required.
• Research new and existing manufacturing methods and tool designs.
• Travel to location and field bases as required.
• Provide technical support to the operations, sales, marketing, and manufacturing groups.
• Collaborate with others in a team environment.

Qualification Requirements

• 5 years of relevant industry experience
• All valid field certificates required to work on job sites
• Experience with mechanical design and product development Required.
• Exposure to downhole tools and field operations in the oil and gas industry an asset
• SolidWorks, Enterprise PDM, and TeamCenter experience Required.
• Engineering diploma or degree applying to mechanical design and/or the petroleum industry

Technical Requirements

• Understanding of basic machining and manufacturing processes and procedures
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Downhole tool and hydraulics knowledge
• Comprehensive technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, company policies, and government regulations
