We are seeking an experienced and skilled Video Conferencing Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Video Conferencing Installation Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless video conferencing experiences for our clients. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining video conferencing systems and equipment, as well as providing technical support and training to end-users. The ideal candidate is confident, personable, and willing to travel to various client locations.
Responsibilities:
Install and configure video conferencing systems and equipment according to client specifications and industry best practices.
Conduct on-site surveys to assess client requirements and determine optimal installation locations for video conferencing equipment.
Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Provide training to end-users on how to operate video conferencing systems effectively and troubleshoot common issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, AV, and facilities, to ensure seamless integration of video conferencing technology with existing infrastructure.
Stay up to date with the latest video conferencing technologies, industry trends, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
Travel to client sites as required to perform installations, upgrades, and provide on-site technical support.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure projects are completed within agreed-upon timelines and budgetary constraints.
Document installation processes, configurations, and system changes to maintain accurate records and assist with troubleshooting and future upgrades.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Video Conferencing Installation Technician or similar role.
Strong technical knowledge of video conferencing systems, equipment, and related technologies (e.g., codecs, cameras, microphones, displays).
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or similar solutions.
Familiarity with AV integration, networking, and audiovisual systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and provide clear instructions and training.
Willingness to travel to various client sites as needed, potentially on short notice.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, when required.
Valid driver's license and the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
Relevant certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
