When You Join Us You Will
Commercial Real Estate
  • Support legal and general advisory needs associated with a large-scale real estate portfolio.
  • Manage regulatory and compliance-related services.
  • Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before real estate transactions are executed.
  • Establish and keep updated applicable real estate precedents, such as leases, purchase and sale agreements.
  • Handle all legal aspects of commercial real estate purchases and sale, including review title searches, prepare, review and amend closing documentation, attend to all closing matters, including meet with client to review and attend to execution of documentation, register transactions prepare reporting letters and other transactional documents.
  • Keep updated on laws, rulings, and regulations for real estate and commercial transactions and inform client of applicable changes.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements and other documentation related to all aspects of commercial real estate transactions.
  • Be involved in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions and advise client accordingly.
  • Draft commercial leases and amendments.
Corporate and Commercial Matters
  • Advise client regarding various corporate, partnership, limited partnership and other corporate structures.
  • Advise client regarding various types of corporate and commercial transactions, including acquisitions (share and assets), joint ventures, partnerships and dissolutions.
  • Advise client regarding and draft incorporation and corporate organizational documents for federal and various provincial corporations.
  • Review various types of commercial and corporate agreements and advise client regarding legal implications.
  • Draft legal documentation to implement various tax reorganization structures.
  • Draft various commercial agreements, such as supply, joint venture, procurement, nondisclosure, construction, service, warranty and terms of sales agreements.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE.
  • Admitted as a notary public (essential).
  • Strong experience in real estate law and industry knowledge that includes litigation, lease transactions, property management, and purchase and sale transactions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree (essential).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
  • Experience in title insurance underwriting, curative, and claims.
  • Influential decision-making, organized, professional, and well informed while ensuring that transactions are legal, binding, and in the best interest of the client.
  • 5 – 8 years of commercial real estate and general corporate/commercial experience
WORK AUTHORIZATIONS AND TRAVEL
  • Some Travel maybe required
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
