IT Manager:

Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of various enterprise applications within the organization. Manages a team of developers, analysts, and administrators, ensuring the successful delivery and support of enterprise applications to meet the needs of the business both at PCI and ISD.

Please note this is a full-time opportunity.


Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance management to team members. Adheres to Corporate Employment Equity objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of developers, analysts, and administrators responsible for enterprise application development and support. Ensures staff development is consistent with Company objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

Enterprise Application Strategy:

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, ensuring the organization remains innovative and competitive. Liaises with prime vendors, overseas logistics companies, freight carriers, and the freight forwarder industry. Remains up to date on regulations, requirements and freight market conditions. Updates senior management of issues. Prepares and forwards communication bulletins as required.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate enterprise applications to meet the needs of different departments and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for enterprise application development and management, aligned with the organization's business objectives.

Application Development and Implementation:

  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure the stability and reliability of applications.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for development teams.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines.

Application Support and Maintenance:

  • Monitor application performance and conduct regular reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish processes and procedures for the ongoing support and maintenance of enterprise applications, ensuring maximum uptime and user satisfaction.
  • Manage application incidents, problems, and change requests, coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to leverage their expertise in implementing and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and performance evaluations.

Compliance and Security:

  • Implement and enforce best practices for data privacy, access controls, and information security.
  • Ensure enterprise applications comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and data security requirements.
  • Ensures compliance to all GISCM & Panasonic Corporate policy and procedures including but not limited to SOX Compliance.

Application support

  • Maintain incident logs for any issues that arise.
  • AS400 Application and System Monitoring
  • Participates in the development of the departmental budgets.
  • General administration of SAP System Environment (ERP, BW, IBP and SCM)
  • Month-End and Year-End schedules for all Batch processing and Job control set up
  • Job Scheduling - Planning, Maintaining, Organizing and Coordinating Daily, Weekly,
  • Provides guidance to other operations staff.
  • Promote Changes to Production Environment (SAP Environment ERP,BW, IBP and SCM)
  • SAP System Monitoring (ERP, BW and SCM)


The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (SAP ERP), integrated business planning (SAP IBP), extended warehouse management (SAP EWM), and other commonly used enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for enterprise application development, integration, and support.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant application support and delivery experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • College or University Degree – 3- or 4-Years of Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise application development methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Proven experience in managing enterprise application development and support teams.
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and security standards applicable to enterprise applications.
