Job Summary


  • Maintain PM and ensure robustness of production equipment
  • Safety of all manufacturing equipment and facilities in the plant
  • Maintain physical plant and equipment to ensure 100% production up-time


Required Qualifications


  • Good communicator of English language (oral and written)
  • Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC
  • Forklift license an asset
  • Possess good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
  • COQ Industrial Electrician with minimum 5 yr experience
  • Thorough knowledge of blue print reading and interpretation

Responsibilities


  • Work from complex wiring drawings, code books and similar documents
  • Follow all lock out/tag out procedures as required
  • Able to start, stop and operate all shop equipment
  • Work from drawings, verbal instructions or sketches
  • Work closely with Supervisor to ensure plant, machines and equipment are capable of producing production requirements
  • Troubleshooting of production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting
  • Assist in the validation of new/used equipment transferred to plant
  • Occasionally performs work in other trade
  • Follow MCPC when working on production concerns, complete paperwork to close protocols
  • Responsible to maintain good housekeeping on work area at all times
  • Ensure Preventative Maintenance Program is done based on assigned schedules
  • Has required experience to use electrical tools, measuring and testing equipment
  • Plan, layout, install and repair complex wiring circuits and distribution systems to the applicable codes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspects of the job
  • Detailed knowledge of applied electrical practices, techniques, theory and operation of electrical/electronic equipment and controls
  • Complete routine paperwork as required
  • Work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends or alternate shifts
  • Liaise with internal departments for design input, fabrication and modifications to equipment
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs, fixtures etc. as required so that production is not interrupted
  • Diagnose and remedy all electrical troubles and repair/replace all electrical apparatus
  • Install and maintain complex electrical and electronic components of varied equipment
  • Ability to write and program various PLC (OMRON, ALLEN BRADLEY, SIEMENS) and other related equipment
  • Preventative maintenance of all production equipment
  • Address safety issues
  • Responsible for housekeeping, work area, parts and equipment
  • Follow Company policies on Health, Safety & Environment
