Ice Maintenance Person (Ticketed On)

Canlan Ice Sports is currently looking for an Ice Maintenance Person (ticketed) The Ice Maintenance Person is a pro-active and hands-on individual who performs general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and regular flooding of ice rinks is completed in a timely and safe manner. Their primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing and edging (operating the Ice Resurfacer), janitorial work and general maintenance of facility. Responsibilities

• Ice Resurfacer operation
• Valid driverâ€s license (preferred)
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)
• Grass cutting and edging
• Trade or Janitorial experience is an advantage
• Responsible for Ice Maintenance tasks including
• Valid B refrigeration ticket required ABILITIES, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports including Ice Resurfacer sign out / safety check QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
• Levelling the Ice
• Safe blade changes and grease machine as needed
• Ice chopping/spudding
• Arena Glass replacement
• Janitorial duties as assigned. These may include janitorial checklists, vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures
• Seasonal snow and debris removal
• Hockey net refurbishment

• Ice Painting
• Edger operation
• Dasher Board system repair
• Execute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills
• Ice Resurfacer safety check, clean and wax
• Completed high school education or equivalent (preferred)
• Perform minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment including:
• Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including:
• Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude (preferred)
• Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
• Ice depth measurement
• Previous experience, training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment
• Property & grounds cleanup
