Healthcare Security Professional - Oshawa

We are currently looking for Security Guards at Healthcare facilities in Durham Region- Oshawa.

As a security guard, you will contribute to the safety and security of patients and all other healthcare stakeholders.

Working in a healthcare environment, no two days are ever the same and your role will include responding to codes, conducting patrols and providing integral support to healthcare staff. You may also be required to liaise with various law enforcement agencies from time to time.

We are looking for licensed security guards with patience, compassion and empathy who want to make a positive impact in the lives of patients and staff. We will provide all additional training including Crisis Management, Effective Communications, Management of Resistant Behaviour, Mental Health Awareness and additional healthcare training. Requirements

• Strong communication skills in English
• Previous security experience in healthcare industry would be an asset
• Basic computer skills
• Police Foundations, Community Justice Services or Law Enforcement Diploma would be an asset
• Ability to complete accurate and detailed report writing
• Valid Security Guard License
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts days/nights providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
• Customer service skills

Skills/Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional security reports with meticulous detail and grammar
• Valid Security Guard License
• Knowledge of Canada Criminal Code and 494(c)
• Be able and willing to work at different stores in Downtown Core
• Ability/willingness to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations
• Strong communication skills - written, verbal and listening
• Willingness to complete all required training modules that include Lawful Subject Restraint, Crisis Management - both of which require annual recertification
• Have 1+ years of Uniformed Security experience in a retail, hospital, College, hospitality or public building setting
• Conflict Resolution and De-Escalation skills
