Capstone’s growing project development pipeline includes >2 GW in the US and Canada. Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking a Health & Safety Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the power generation sector, and particularly in renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities: Implement, manage and revise Capstone’s H&S management system that supports compliance with the applicable legislation, regulations, and codes for all operations / assets; Support operations, working closely with Plant Mangers to ensure compliance with H&S management systems and applicable legislation; Coordinate with corporate and plant managers on the development and implementation of H&S procedures and policies; Collaborate with H&S Committees to ensure that operations are aligned with corporate H&S commitments; Monitor and support contractor, visitor and partner activities and ensure their compliance with the contractor management system; Perform workplace hazard analyses, develop and support the implementation of mitigation action plans; Conduct routine audits assessing compliance with H&S management system implementation across Capstone assets; Ensure consistent compliance with all policies and procedures and safe practices by monitoring, inspecting and auditing; Perform workplace orientations and training to employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors; Support incident reporting and investigations; Develop, deliver and track safety training as required; Liaise with regulators, committees, customers, site management, consultants, contractors and peers. Ability to travel (approximately 50 - 75%) to facilities across Canada. Qualifications and Experience: B.Sc. /B.A. degree with at least 5 years related experience in safety. Power Generation experience is an asset. Experience in similar fields (energy, chemical, manufacturing) will be considered. Safety certifications (CRSP, CHSC) are an asset. P. Eng is an asset. Expertise in H&S management systems and standards. Solid understanding of H&S regulatory requirements, industry standards and practices applicable to Capstone’s assets. Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of H&S compliance; Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities including leading a team; Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure; Strong planning and organizational skills; Friendly, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with colleagues, advisors and the general public.
