Safety, Health, And Environment Co-Op

This is a 6-month internship and is based out of our Dressing’s factory in Rexdale, Ontario (195 Belfield Rd, Etobicoke, ON, M9W 1G8). You must be able to work full time from July 2023 to December 2023. Resumes are due by Monday, June 26th and interviews will take place on Wednesday, June 28th.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

The purpose of the Intern Program is to introduce you to Unilever through a challenging and rewarding experience, which offers you the opportunity to lead a project and build your knowledge. During your 6-month internship, you will develop your leadership style and strengthen your analytical skills.

• Contribute to improving safety culture and campaigns.
• Perform other duties assigned by SHE Department.
• Support waste management initiatives.
• Participation in the SHE programs of Rexdale factory to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day.
• Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) processes.
• Assist in Permit to Work administration.
• Assist in maintaining workplace health and safety by identifying, evaluating, and controlling exposure to chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards.
• Contribute to noise assessments.
• Assist in managing high hazard activities.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments.
• Support LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) management.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Strong working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is necessary, and a working knowledge
• Communicate complex ideas to all levels.
• Working towards an Undergraduate/Graduate degree (Industrial hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field).
• Impeccable record keeping and excellent organizational skills are a must.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to
• Of PowerPoint and Access.
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to track and analyze data as well as manage
• Business.
• Attention to detail and data analysis abilities.
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do
• Project timelines.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
