Haisla Culture Camp Guides – 4 Positions

Job Title: Haisla Culture Camp Guides – 4 Position

Department: Employment and Training - Culture & Language

Overview: Seasonal position, to assist with the Haisla Culture Camp.

Duties

• Assisting and supporting language learning opportunities;
• Maintain a clean work area, clearing clutter and garbage we necessary;
• Leading various activities, lessons, and games that will be outlined in the daily camp schedule;
• Supervision of the youth, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times;
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude so the youth can make the most of their experience;
• Stay in campsite for 13 days for the duration of the employment;
• Incident reporting to necessary staff;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A valid BC driver’s license and own vehicle an asset;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Valid First Aid certification is an asset;
• Willing and able to complete a vulnerable sector police information check.
• Team player with the ability to work with other camp staff;

Please note that majority of the work will be completed in an outdoor camp setting in varying weather conditions.
