Location Address: Hybrid - 888 Birchmount Road 6th Floor – Mostly remote right now, coming in for ad hoc meetings, need candidates in the GTA
Contract Duration: 1 year
Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week
Typical Day in Role:
• Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
• Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services including project leadership roles
• Develop and interpret security policies and procedures
• Participate in security compliance efforts
• Develop and deliver training materials and perform general security awareness and specific security technology training
• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies
Filtering proxy technology
Working with users to define what kind of web security policies they need
Working with internal regulatory and compliance teams to ensure the requirements are met
Working with change management to put through changes
Finally, will be working on implementing web security policies
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 8+ years of working experience as an IT Security Analyst
2) 3-5+ years of experience with proxy technology
3) 1+ years’ experience to reflect strong knowledge of networking: traffic routes, being able to troubleshoot networks, packet captures
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Experience within FI/ banking an asset
2) Familiarity/experience with: Forcepoint, Zscaler, Bluecoat (please list which)
3) Bilingual in Spanish
Soft Skills Required:
• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization
• Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction
Education:
• Post-secondary degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related IT field preferred
CISSP, CCSP an asset
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Ideal candidate can communicate very well, gather information from customers, implement solutions properly, follow change management practices independently; strong web security knowledge
