Job Description

Our client is a large global freight forwarder who are in the process of opening a domestic truckload (FTL) brokerage office based in Toronto. They are a US client based out of New York with offices in over 70 countries worldwide.

Any successful applicant will be coming from a brokerage environment as the client are non-asset based.


General Manager - Freight Brokerage:

The successful candidate will hold responsibility for all Truckload (FTL) daily activities of the office as well as training and managing a team of Logistics Account Executives and Operators. They will also be overseeing P&L, truckload tracking, hiring and firing, KPI controlling. This position reports to the CEO/President.


Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff
  • Identifying need areas and initiating improvements of truckload operations
  • Provide direction, development, and leadership
  • Implementation and enforcement of company policies and procedures
  • Provide accurate and timely submission of key quality and financial reports
  • Monitoring of P&L
  • General executive management duties
  • Follow industry trends and expectations


Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of management responsibility in freight brokerage
  • Travel requirements: Occasionally
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Truckload (FTL) experience
