COMPANY IS HIRING FOR PERMANENT POSITIONS - DIRECT HIRES FROM DAY ONE!!!
➡ ARE YOU IN GOOD PHYSICAL CONDITION, HAVE THE ABILITY TO FIT INTO NARROW ACCESS AREAS, AND HAVE 2+ YEARS OF GENERAL LABOUR EXPERIENCE GAINED IN MANUFACTURING/PRODUCTION FACILITIES???

Our client operates a UNIONIZED environment, which means pay rate progression, benefits packages, internal promotions, and PENSION, all sit at INCREDIBLY desirable levels!!!
**This role requires a candidate who has flexibility in their schedule, as this position ROTATES ALL THREE SHIFTS. However, this is NOT a 12 hour continental**
The schedule runs as days, afternoons, and overnights on a rotational basis.
Shifts are 8 hours TOTAL (all breaks are paid), and run:
➡ DAYS 7am-3pm
➡ AFTERNOONS 3pm-11pm
➡ OVERNIGHTS 11pm-7am
Rate of pay for this role STARTS at $20.26, BUT THEN INCREASES THREE TIMES OVER THE FIRST YEAR!!!
➡ At the three month mark, pay increases to $23.58
➡ At the six month mark, pay increases to $25.70
➡ At the one year mark, pay increases to $28.24
After completing a full year to get to the max pay rate for this role, employees then receive guaranteed annual increases based on the collective bargaining agreement!!

**REMINDER - SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A CLEAR CRIMINAL BACKGROUND, A VALID FORKLIFT LICENSE, AND BE ABLE TO WORK ROTATING SHIFTS**

Responsibilities
⦾ Operate within a team working in tandem to run industrial printing machinery
⦿ 20% of each shift spent operating the Clamp Truck
➡ moving very large 3000lb rolls of paper from storage area
➡ maneuvering rolls onto in-floor mechanisms that load them onto the press
➡ staging additional rolls to ensure they are available to load for the next run when needed
➡ removing scrap paper debris from the press area using clamps and transferring it to the recycling machinery
➡ removing finished rolls from the press and staging them in the shipping area so they can be transferred to the next facility for further processing
➡ operating forklift in a safe manner at all times
➡ additional reasonable forklift duties not outlined here
⦿ 80% of each shift spent assisting the other members of the team with "press changeovers" ➡ this work is HIGHLY PHYSICAL and requires the ability to:
➡ lift rollers and other loads weighing up to 50lbs
➡ push/pull wheeled carts carrying heavy metal parts
➡ regularly climb staircases
➡ bend and crouch for extended periods (up to 10 mins at a time)
➡ reach into tight spaces with arms outstretched for prolonged periods (cleaning ink components)
➡ grip tightly with hands and fingers
➡ use arms and hands to firmly and repeatedly scrub ink from various parts of the press (**NOTE - ALL INKS ARE NON-TOXIC AND WATER SOLUBLE **)
➡ stand and walk for the duration of each shift
➡ perform additional reasonable physical movements above and beyond what is listed above
⦾ Completing press changeover activities such as:
➡ assisting the press operator with any tasks requiring a second person to complete safely
➡ moving quickly to stage roller plates and prepare appropriately sized gears for the next design on the production schedule
➡ changing large printing plate rollers using both material handling equipment (overhead crane) and manual operation (wheeled push carts)
➡ locating the correct roller plates in the racking and loading rollers onto hand carts to push/pull to the appropriate staging area to be ready ahead of the next changeover
➡ assisting in "wash-up" of ink bays and printing plates for each new print run (**ALL INKS ARE NON-TOXIC AND WATER SOLUABLE - NO IMPACT ON YOUR HEALTH**)
➡ accessing printing press components to clean or change out through narrow access and/or confined space areas
⦾ Completing mandatory pre-shift press and forklift inspection
⦾ Ensuring all directions from team members and management are followed with utmost accuracy
⦾ Filling in for coworkers on other presses for breaks or other on-shift absences as required
⦾ Following all health and safety procedures and protocols and reporting any hazards or infractions to supervisors
⦾ Providing support for the two other team members when their tasks require assistance
⦾ Completing any required shift reports and documents
Qualifications
⦾ MUST have a clear criminal record
⦾ MUST have the flexibility to work all three rotating shifts
⦾ MUST be physically capable of completing all tasks outlined in the "RESPONSIBILITIES" section
⦾ MUST be looking for the opportunity to build a career and stay with the right employer long-term
⦾ 2+ years' experience working in fast-paced industrial manufacturing/production environments
⦾ Minimum of 6 months' experience operating Propane Counterbalance Forklifts - MUST HAVE A VALID EXTERNAL FORKLIFT LICENSE
⦾ Must have flexibility in schedule to allow for occasional overtime when/if large projects require longer hours
⦾ Must have a positive attitude and approachable personality - enjoy working with people
⦾ Having a natural mechanical inclination a big asset
⦾ Have experience working effectively under tight production deadlines - coming from industries with production quotas an asset
⦾ Have the ability to work effectively in a team-centric environment
⦾ Be comfortable working in a unionized environment
⦾ Have a natural willingness to step up and lend a hand when team members/teams running adjacent presses require additional help
⦾ Have the ability to maintain focus and motivation with little supervision
⦾ Must possess excellent English communication abilities - reading, writing, and speaking
