General Laborer Jobs

The Opportunity: DNR Industries Limited is seeking to recruit qualified general labourer’s to support our team. The ideal candidate(s) will have great attention to detail and the ability to move from one function to the next with ease. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is an asset and the ability to problem solve in an effective manner is required.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

• Handle power tools (such as saws and drills) and machinery (forklifts) when required.
• Communicate material requirements and report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.
• Operate polishing tools and processes; able to effectively polish, buff, and grind material imperfections utilizing a buffing jack and small hand tools.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labour tasks.
• Assist welders, benders, polishers, and buffers as required.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and schedules.
• Transport materials and equipment through the facility
• Maintain workshop in a clean and orderly manner.
• Utilize the bending and cutting machines when required; able to set up and operate machine to bend metal structural shapes to angle or contour specified by work order, drawings, templates, or layout.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned by direct manager.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a general worker, or equivalent.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• Ability to operate and/or read a tape measure, calipers, protractors blueprints and process sheets.
• Ability to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules.
• Familiarity with power tools and machinery
• Professional time management and communication skills
• Forklift experience as asset.
• General knowledge of cutting, buffing, grinding, welding, polishing, sanding, brushing, etc.
