Full Time Permanent Rn In Ivmc

Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) is looking for an experienced RN to join our Integrated Vascular Management Clinic team. We are looking for an exceptional individual who shares our passion to deliver excellent patient-focused care.

This is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday position working in collaboration with our cardiologists to provide physical assessment and health teaching and ongoing patient management.

The ideal candidate will have an in depth understanding of cardiovascular health and the issues that arise from vascular disease. The candidate must have demonstrated an ability to teach and support patients and to work as a cooperative team member.

The candidate must have a current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and be a member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, both in good standing with a minimum 3 to 5 years recent cardiac experience (acute care, cath lab, telemetry).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzes and interprets ECGs
• Performs physical ‘head to toe’ assessments
• Analyzes and interprets lab values
• Assess and treat patient symptoms (chest pain, BP changes)
• Works in collaboration with cardiologists to provide ongoing patient management and illness prevention
• Provides health teaching and support to patients

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of cardiac medications
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Current, valid membership with Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
• Current, valid registration with College of Nurses (CNO)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular disease, coronary care and commonly associated comorbidities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of ECG and arrhythmias interpretation
• 3-5 years recent cardiac experience (Acute Care, Cath Lab, Telemetry)
• Certification in Coronary Care 1 (an asset)
