ManageBetter's performance feedback software provides precise, meaningful phrases employees and managers can use. Our customer base includes Facebook, Google, Amazon, Walmart, and Home Depot. Our customers use our software to improve team morale, save time, and increase productivity.


We are looking for a freelance product UX designer to join our team. This role is perfect for a motivated and passionate individual who thrives on diverse design projects and relishes creative problem-solving. As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver visually captivating designs that meet their specific requirements. Staying updated with industry trends, you will incorporate feedback effectively, ensuring that designs communicate the intended message.


The core team is located in Seattle, but due to the pandemic, we are now a remote team. You can live anywhere in Canada.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistency and coherence across all product touchpoints, maintaining a unified user experience.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging UX design practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define detailed product specifications.
  • Develop user personas, user flows, and user journey maps to inform the design process.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and champion the importance of the user experience throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Write clear and comprehensive design requirements and specifications for developers.
  • Analyze data and user feedback to make data-driven design decisions and iterate on the user experience.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and interactive designs to visualize and iterate on the user experience.
  • Conduct user research to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points.
  • Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that align with user expectations and business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to align design efforts with project objectives and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to articulate and document detailed design requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
  • Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and synthesizing user feedback into actionable insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as UX design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences and a commitment to creating products that meet user needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, user research methodologies, and information architecture.
  • Proven experience as a product UX designer, showcasing a strong portfolio that highlights UX research, wireframes, prototypes, and design requirements.
  • Proficiency in UX design tools and software, such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset to design innovative solutions.
