Freelance Photographer - Newmarket, On

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated freelance photographer to capture breaking news and events for our NewmarketToday news site.

We are born digital, but at the heart of what we do is community storytelling and we are looking for an experienced photographer who can help us cover a number of diverse subject areas.

We’re looking for an individual who:

• Is driven to find the people behind the stories that matter in their communities
• Knows how to capture passions, struggles and triumphs and communicate them in a compelling way
• Is experienced with taking photos for breaking news and current events

The ideal candidate should have:

• The flexibility to work some evenings and weekends
• Experience with editing images
• Their own photography equipment
• A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
• A degree or diploma in journalism, photography, or a related field
• Experience with audio and video recording techniques and equipment
• Strong photography skills with demonstrated ability and creativity
• Familiarity with the Newmarket, Ontario community
