City Experiences is seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

About The Opportunity


The Food & Beverage Supervisor will assist the Food & Beverage Manager with all activities involving the front of house and back of house. The successful candidate will oversee the newly renovated restaurant and ice cream/coffee shop to ensure high-quality food and drinks are served, crew are hospitable and efficient with guests, and maintain profitable operations. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will contribute to creating amazing guest and staff experiences.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Assists in inventory management and logistics
  • Maintains high standards of food and restaurant safety for guests and staff
  • Provides support and assistance to the front-line positions when applicable to further enhance guest service
  • Completes administrative tasks including daily reports, paperwork and invoices on a timely basis
  • Attends all scheduled meetings
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards
  • Helps execute incentive programs and gratuities with the staff
  • Maintains good relationship with other departments (marine, retail, and administration)
  • Leads by example; maintains highest level of professionalism, integrity, and sound work habits
  • Develops and executes programs that improve the level of service and product quality
  • Gathers necessary information from other departments to ensure amazing guest satisfaction (special requests, additional services, special timing, etc.)
  • Assist in managing the front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house restaurant staff, including recruitment, training, coaching/discipline, and retention
  • Ensures all opening and closing duties, include stocking, replenishing, wiping, sweeping, and other duties as required to maintain an appealing, hygienic, and safe environment for staff and guests
  • Operates all restaurant systems (point of sale, inventory/purchasing system, reservations system)
  • Reconciles cash and credit sales with the point-of-sale system
  • Completes any other duties as assigned
  • Provides exceptional hospitality to guests and staff as prescribed in RESPECT Service System
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings and communicates with all restaurant and kitchen staff
  • Resolves guest issues, conflicts and complaints in a professional and timely fashion within the scope of authority; refers any unusual situations to the Manager


Requirements & Qualifications


  • Full G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays, weekends and evenings
  • Hospitality or Culinary degree preferred
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 lbs (18 kgs)
  • Smart Serve Certificate required
  • Food Handler’s Certificate required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks
  • Minimum of three (3) years restaurant and/or kitchen supervision experience
  • If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
  • Moderate computer skills are essential; will frequently work with Microsoft office products as well as point of sale system and web-based applications.
