WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and facilitating effective financial decision-making. The Financial Controller will lead a team and be responsible for overseeing the month-end process, preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting various financial analysis activities.

DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

• Translate US entities and compute currency translation adjustments
• Maintain and modify chart of accounts, as required
• Assist in budgeting process
• Prepare and coordinate various audits
• Ensure inter-company transactions balance
• Maintain and ensure consistency in departmental and GL mapping accounts
• Consolidate US and CAD entities
• Oversee annual audit process
• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements
• Support team growth through training initiatives
• Support maintenance and enhancement initiatives of ERP systems
• Develop income tax provisions and provide required information for income tax filing requirements
• Perform payroll expense-related analysis (payroll register reconciliations, vacation, DAS accruals)
• Fulfill bank reporting obligations
• Create & maintain templates for financial reporting
• Prepare/approve GL account reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements and financial reporting package for executive management
• Analyse certain accounts to ensure accuracy and discrepancy resolution
• Act as contact person for government agencies
• Lead and coordinate the month-end process with team

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• High proficiency in Excel
• Organized team player with strong attention to detail
• 5-7 years experience in Finance
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Curious and self-starter attitude with ability to prioritize
• CPA designation, an asset
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, an asset
