About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Assistant Managers – Accounts Receivable, the Accounts Receivable File Clerk is responsible for carrying out assigned functional office administration and maintaining the integrity of information within the accounting subsystem in Accounts Receivable. The Accounts Receivable File Clerk responds to and serves as a first point of contact for customers and patients.
The Accounts Receivable File Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide the Nova Scotia Health Authority such as the vision, mission, values, strategic directions, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Grade 12 and graduate of a one year Office Administration or Accounting program with an emphasis in Office Administration or Accounting
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health
  • Experience working within SAP, Meditech, Star an asset
  • Ability to use general office equipment (faxing, scanning, etc.)
  • Experience in a health care environment an asset
  • Demonstrated good attendance in current and past employment
  • Experience working within the functional area of Accounts Receivable an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Demonstrated accountability
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Demonstrated judgment and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills

  • Minimum one (1) year recent and related experience in Office Administration or a computerized Accounting environment in the past five (5) years
  • Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Computer literate and proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) and willingness to learn new programs
  • Exemplary work history as demonstrated in current and past employment
  • Knowledge of Office Administration or Accounting

Hours
Long assignment, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly
Beginning August 8 with an expected end date of March 14, 2025 (Approximately 18 months)

Compensation and Incentives
$20.09 - $21.90 Hourly
