About Our Client
Our client is global company that specializes in providing innovative packaging solutions for various industries. The group has established a strong presence worldwide and operates in multiple countries, including 70 people in Canada.
Our client is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and technical expertise. As part of his expansion plans in NAM and Mexico, our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join their team.
The position will be based in the Greater Toronto Area and will require frequent travel (on average 50% of the time) - mainly in the US.

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of packaging machinery for clients across various locations mainly in the US and also in Canada and Mexico.
You will be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues, providing technical support, and delivering exceptional service to industrials clients. The role will require frequent travel to client sites, with a focus on resolving machinery-related problems and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate efficient service delivery, including spare parts management and escalated technical support, as required.
  • Train client staff on proper equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to group policies and procedures, including safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex machinery problems by utilizing technical knowledge, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on packaging and labeling machinery and equipment at client sites, adhering to company guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues and implement proactive maintenance measures.
  • Collaborate with customers to provide technical support, offer guidance, and ensure their understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Document service activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and equipment advancements to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

The Successful Applicant
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently. Deployment mainly in US, Canada and occasionally in Mexico.
  • Troubleshooting and programming of PLCs. Knowledge of PLC (mainly Allen-Bradley).
  • Familiarity with cross-border travel requirements.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Field Service Technician or similar role, specifically with machinery.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet service targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Out of country travel required (50% of the time).
  • Technical degree in a related field (mechanical, electrical, automation engineering).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
