Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Manager to join their team in Burnaby! In this role, you will be responsible for leading the facility operations, managing a team of staff, overseeing vendor management and create/implement operational and capital budgets.
If you have strong asset, business and risk management experience with a rock solid background in facilities – this is the role for you!
About Our Client
Our client is a leading organization that focuses on managing and providing essential services for major metropolitan areas. Their services range from wastewater treatment and solid waste management to managing regional parks and environmental protection programs.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing day to day operations of facilities, ensuring that all systems are running efficiently and effectively.
- Managing and overseeing security and custodial services.
- Managing projects and implementing plans to enhance and extend life of facility systems.
- Develop, implement and update policies and procedures for the safety of building occupants
- Leading the facility operations and managing a team of staff.
- Managing the capital maintenance budget, developing and reviewing RFQ's and RFP's.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the commercial tenancy act.
- Experience managing numerous contracts and vendors.
- Holding Facility Management Professional or Property Management Professional certification.
- Experience with budgeting including creating, implementing and utilizing operational and capital budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 5-7 years of related experience supplemented with a relevant bachelors degree or diploma in facilities
- Knowledge of contract law and engineering principles.
Compensation
- 3-4 weeks vacation plus 2 weeks for any OT coverage
- Pension
- $125,000 – 140,000 per annum
