Job Description

We are looking for our first executive director who will help us drive the roll out of our climate education programs for companies, professionals and government agencies.


The ideal candidate will use a strategic mindset to drive the future success of the Avondale Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and contribute to constant curriculum development focused on impact
  • Maintain a work environment that attracts and retains a talented and diverse staff
  • Create and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations to facilitate success of organization's future
  • Engage with government partners
  • Prepare agendas, reports, and materials for funders
  • Engage with higher education partners
  • Drive the execution of the strategic organizational plan to deliver climate education and climate education programs


Qualifications

  • Masters, PHD or similar higher education qualifications in environmental science, education, science, engineering, agricultural related fields (P. Eng)


Capabilities Requirements

  • Action driven
  • Demonstrated professional capabilities in curriculum development at the university or corporate education level
  • Prior experience engaging in climate change matters at the local, national or international level
  • Strong intellectual curiosity


Nice to have

  • Previous not for profit fundraising and donor management experience
  • Previous online course development experience
  • Previous government relations and not for profit program delivery or program leadership experience
