Job Description
We're currently seeking an Estimator or Repair Planner to join us in all 3 of our locations in Victoria. For this roles we offer a competitive salary range going from $50,000-$71,000, depending on experience and skillset. The successful candidate will support customer service, initial estimates and repair plans. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Estimator role, while those with more extensive experience in automotive estimating will be considered for the more senior role of Repair Planner. While primary duties are focused on the reduction of customer effort and vehicle throughput, the repair planners are active in quality control, insurance relations and parts.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provides customer service at vehicle drop off and pick up, including reviewing replacement vehicle and customer vehicle;
  • Uses company dashboard to accurately identify and prioritize tasks;
  • Assists with educating customers about claims and repair process;
  • Works with the Shop Manager, Assistant Shop Manager, Operations team, People and Culture Team, and Health, Safety and Environment Manager to ensure that operations are compliant with all provincial and national regulatory standards pertaining to health and safety, quality and employment standards;
  • Books estimate appointments over the phone when necessary
  • Proactively takes steps and leverages all systems and resources to reduce effort in order to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop;
  • Utilizes Mitchell, Audatex and ALLDATA software to prepare estimates;
  • Actively participates in daily production meetings;
  • Supports daily operations by providing leadership to ensure stakeholder objectives are met in a safe, effective, ethical and positive manner;
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and guidelines to promote their consistent application within the Company;
  • Supports pre and post vehicle diagnostic scanning;
  • Checks for vehicle recalls while building repair plans;
  • Identifies and orders parts from the management system after completing repair plan;
  • Maintains awareness of production deadlines and updates customers as required;
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Supports daily production, work flow and quality control of the shop;
  • Contributes to the goal of closing all files within 24 hours of vehicle delivery;
  • Reviews vehicle history in Craftsman Management System;
  • Utilizes expert understanding and application of all insurance specific policies and procedures;
  • Supports management of shop in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW);
  • Inspect and reviews vehicles for damage for the purposes of providing an estimate;
  • Represents and promotes the Craftsman Collision brand in a positive manner aligned with stated values in all dealings internal and external; and
  • Supports company standards in SPARKLE, safety and security;


Requirements


  • Experience using Craftsman Management System or similar platform;
  • Demonstrated time management, problem solving, critical thinking and sound judgement skills;
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of progressive industry experience, including experience in sales, customer service, or leadership;
  • Knowledge and experience in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies;
  • Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms with the ability and willingness to learn new applications;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered;
  • Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification an asset;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development;
  • Proficient in Mitchell Estimating, Audatex, ALLDATA;
  • Strong verbal, written and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision-makers;
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customer service-oriented attitude;
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver’s abstract over the last 3 years;
