We are seeking aSheet Metal Estimatorto join our high-achieving and hard-working estimating team inBrampton, ON.As the Sheet Metal Estimator, you will work within the team to prepare for, assemble and submit tender prices for various projects of all sizes and scope. The Estimator will be responsible to prepare, record, and maintain pricing and assist the management team in the ongoing pursuit and acquisition of construction projects. Through the development of the estimate, the Estimator sets the basis for the projects teams’ success by breaking the project into logical areas with labour and cost breakdowns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble all elements of an estimate including labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Reviewing all bid documents to ensure all bid requirements are met.
• Performing quantity takeoffs including entry into the computer estimating system.
• Participates in the presentation of estimates/proposals to senior management.
• Preparing bid forms and submissions for a tender call or proposal.
• Calculate a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overheads a profit.
• Attends and participates in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and post-bid meetings as required.
• Present bid package with tender price for clients following their specifications.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• 2+ years of extensive, practical, and successful experience in organizing and preparing cost estimates and proposals for construction projects working in both the subcontractor and prime contractor capacity
• Post-secondary diploma in mechanical or construction technology or other relevant technical field or extensive experience in a mechanical contracting trade.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Understanding of SMACNA and Sheet Metal Construction Standards and ability to identify conflicts on drawings during the estimate phase of the project
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience in using AutoCAD.
• Self-motivated with a strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged
