Job Description
FreeBalance Inc. headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, builds and implements the only public financial and human resources management solution exclusively for government. We offer professional services and support to our customers including the federal Government of Canada. We have a Top Secret facility clearance and our professional services team is comprised of employees with all levels of clearances: Reliability, Secret and Top Secret.


As an ERP Functional Services Consultant at FreeBalance, you will be responsible for all aspects of implementing FreeBalance Accountability Software, using generally accepted accounting principles and standards, Government-wide accounting policies and best practices, extensive product knowledge, and applying technology to government business operations. The ERP Functional Services Consultant will also serve as subject matter expert, providing support within our organization for augmenting product direction and participation with demos/proposals to existing and prospective customers.


Main responsibilities:


  • Provide functional expertise to the customer during deployment and post-implementation, including troubleshooting systems and solving complex issues;
  • Conduct business process design workshops with the customer stakeholders by demonstrating the FreeBalance Accountability Suite solution, illustrating the mapping between the process to the technology;
  • Transfer knowledge to the client related to project management, change management and correct use of the FreeBalance products/solution as a ‘Super User’;
  • Other duties as assigned and travel as required.
  • Plan, coordinate, manage and participate in all phases of the FreeBalance GRP software implementation lifecycle (requirements analysis, business process design, software configuration, testing, training and deployment);
  • Develop and/or manage functional aspects of the application software configuration, gap analysis and specifications, and requirements for custom components including data migration, interfaces and specialized reports;
  • Confirm customer business processes and functional needs to meet operational and reporting requirements;
  • Create and maintain training plans and training material, and deliver required product and user training courses, including Train-the-Trainer;
  • Adhere to statutory, regulatory or policy standards for the functional design, create and maintain functional documentation and deliver technical training to customers, and provide progress reporting on tasks against the plan
  • Develop acceptance test plans and conduct acceptance testing of the configured FreeBalance software/system with the customer;
Qualifications:


  • Minimum University degree in Accounting or a related field such as Commerce, Business Administration, Financial Administration
  • Excellent customer relationship, communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with customers resulting in a positive and ongoing relationship
  • Must currently hold a SECRET or RELIABILITY level Government of Canada Security Clearance. Top secret clearance will be considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in ERP software implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and deploying software applications, gathering and documenting customer’s requirements, particularly for the development and implementation of software applications
  • Demonstrated expertise in public financial administration including budget management, procure to pay process, public accounting/financial control, assets and inventory management, procurement and contract management, and human resources admin/management in the public sector
  • Financial designation (e.g. CMA, CGA) and work experience with a large national accounting firm or ERP firm an asset
