Environmental Health Officer (Full Time)

Reporting to the Team Lead - Environmental Health and in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Environmental Health Officer is responsible for carrying out a diverse program of environmental health protection. Using a variety of professional and technical skills, the position reduces the incidence of communicable disease, injury and health hazards; performs technical assessments; provides consultative and education services; ensures that community development does not conflict with a healthy environment; ensures compliance with environment health legislation, policy and standards. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30 New Wage: As of April 1, 2023, the new wage is: $37.65 - $47.01/hour Terrace has a population 12,700 (2021) residents. • Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline; must have a Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada). Current valid BC Driver's License. Skills and Abilities:
• Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability in the use of e-mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
