Engineering Manager Jobs

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a well established machinery client of ours in the Vancouver area. The engineering manager is responsible for large-scale design and manufacturing projects including both electrical, mechanical, and automation engineering components. This position also requires research and design expertise, as well as experience in standardization of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completes engineering projects by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on results.
• Determines feasibility of project by identifying and forecasting costs and requirements.
• Design electrical systems, products and/or components.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional activities.
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing the engineering budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Plans projects by studying customer requirements, market demand, and competitors’ products; identifying and analyzing trends in technology; conferring and collaborating with other members of management.
• Complies with Federal, State, and Local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Lead project teams to produce standardized and custom equipment.
• Completes projects by directing and approving design and modification activities.
• Maintains engineering database by developing information requirements; designing and information system.
• Maintains engineering operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing project, operational, and personal policies and procedures.
• Develop and manage engineering teams and monitor and ensure compliance methods.
• Determine and exemplify engineering best practices.
• Ensures projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations

Qualifications

• Must work well under deadlines and have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering is required. Professional engineer preferred.
• 5 years management experience is preferred.
• Outstanding teamworking and people skills.
• Excellent understanding and hands-on knowledge of both mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Must be proficient with the following software: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoDesk Inventor Suite, AutoDesk Vault
• Extensive experience with R&D engineering.
