Electrical Design Engineer Jobs

MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for an Electrical Design Engineer for our client located in the GTA. Our client is a Mechanical, Electrical & Engineering contractor who is the fastest growing large scale, multi trade company in the Canadian Market.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking Electrical Designers/Technologists with at least 1 year of real-life experience. However, we are also open to considering new graduates who possess the right enthusiasm. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate, and eager to learn and grow in their career.

• As an Electrical Designer, you will work at their Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke, ON. This role provides a unique opportunity to directly report/interact with the Head of Engineering & Manufacturing, fostering a valuable connection.

Responsibilities:

• Work on light rail and subway traction power distribution systems.
• Interface and integrate control systems, including HMI, PLC, and SCADA.
• Create illumination systems, encompassing temporary, emergency, and permanent tunnel lighting.
• Develop emergency power distribution systems, such as generators and UPS systems.
• Design and implement medium and low voltage power distribution systems for infrastructure and industrial facilities, including switchboards, switchgear, and transformers.

Requirements:

• Ability to design single-line diagrams, equipment elevation, and layout.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Codes and experience with local electrical utilities standards.
• Post-secondary education in Electrical Drafting & Design or Electrical Engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, and ETAP.
• Ideally, 1+ years of industry experience; however, we will consider promising new graduates with the right attitude.
• Capability to generate bills of material and as-built drawings, along with a good understanding of QA/QC procedures.
