Description


What you’ll do:


The successful candidate will be responsible for plant environmental, health and safety (EHS) performance by maintaining a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. Ensure facility is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Solenis policies and procedures. Drive continuous improvement in EHS programs, including, compliance documentation, emergency response organization, cost reduction, people development, budgeting and capital projects.

Qualifications


Education: BS Engineering and or Science, Chemistry, and or Occupational Safety, Health and Environment related fields of study.


Training: Strong knowledge of EHS regulations; OHSA, Reg 347, TDG, etc. (US OSHA an asset)


Experience: 3 - 5 years EHS experience at plant level, preferably in the chemical manufacturing sector and dealing with GHS chemicals


Competencies


Strong communication, computer, leadership, people development and decision-making skills, willingness to learn, flexibility to adjust to changing situations, good organization skills with the ability to handle a variety of things simultaneously, and the willingness to take risks and be held accountable.


  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing operations, and equipment usage.
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Must provide development, coaching, and counseling to employees
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management.
  • Additionally, this position may require some travel and off hours on-call availability.
