Job Description

Education Technologist


Regular, Full-time


Duties: Reporting to the Dean of Innovation, this position manages the College's digital learning platform for online, hybrid, and remote learning operations for College of the Rockies' main and regional campuses. The position ensures the smooth functioning of the College's Learning Management System (LMS) for all staff and students. It requires management of multiple software platforms and coordinating institutional efforts with several senior managers including the Registrar, Director of IT, and Deans.


This is an on campus opportunity with no opportunity for remote work.


Additionally, this position provides tier 1, 2, and 3 technical support for the LMS and its users. This includes technical training and support for COTR students, faculty, and staff in the application of instructional technology. These roles are mission critical in maintaining access to the LMS software for students and faculty and supporting the College's strategic and academic plans for continuous quality improvement, increased student success, enhancing the learning and working environment.


Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Education; Educational Technology, Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science w/ Web Design or related fields along with:


  • Technical support/help desk experience.
  • Two to three years working with learning management systems.
  • Able to solve complex institutional-wide issues that involve multiple academic/administrative departments and extremely specialized software platforms.
  • Technical writing for internet applications.

Salary: As per the CUPE Salary Schedule Pay Level 6 with a starting wage of $45,900 per year Step 1 starting wage with yearly increments progressing to Step 5.
