JPR Industries is looking to employ a full-time Draftsperson to work at our shop in Shaughnessy, AB. We are a welding/construction company that repairs and builds feed mills for feedlots in the area, constructs agricultural steel buildings and completes many other miscellaneous fabrication projects. A thorough knowledge of, or background in the agriculture industry would be considered an asset. This job would be full-time, with regular overtime. We are looking for someone with good communication skills as this job requires much discussion back and forth with supervisors and fabricators. The ideal candidate is one that is willing to develop and grow with us as our company expands.

Key Accountabilities

• Create CAD models and drawings to conform to various industry standards
• Concept and design of grain handling equipment and facilities.
• Manage projects in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Drafting or Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering Technology
• 1-3 years mechanical design experience (Experience in design of agricultural/conveyance equipment preferred)

Desired Characteristics

• Able to organize and manage multiple priorities and projects at once.
• Ability to make changes quickly and efficiently as projects evolve from concept phase to production.
• Attention to Detail and Accuracy
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Good grasp of mechanical concepts, both in a hands-on environment as well as design.
• Out of the box thinking skills
• Experience with Solidworks (Understanding of sheet-metal module preferred)
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
• Desire to be continually learning and improving within the field.
• Experience in agriculture an asset.
