A Day in the Life

• Plan and execute Curtain Wall/Window shop and fabrication drawings with input from the team leads is a must.
• Read and understand Architectural and Structural Drawings
• Review specifications and ensure all aspects of the project have been addressed and conveyed into the final shop drawing package.
• Correspond and plan the execution of projects with Estimating, Project Manager(s), and the Design/Construction teams.
• Demonstrate seasoned understanding of Curtain Wall/Window systems
• Foresee/solve and address curtain wall issues as they arise
• Recognize, and solve basic and advanced Curtain Wall and UCW detailing issues. Understanding of basic curtain wall construction methods, is a must.
• Resolve outstanding drawing issues and pursue contract clarifications as required.
• Understand building construction and sequencing
• Read, understand and review Specifications providing input for potential risks
• Check fabrication releases

What We Are Seeking

• Must have a good understanding of Building Science related topics and issues as they relate to Curtain Wall and Building Envelope design.
• Basic understanding of industry codes
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to work in Canada.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing work to meet critical deadlines
• Strong PC skills in MS Office
• Proficiency with the following programs: AutoCAD 2D and 3D modeling, Inventor with Min 5+ years’ experience in construction. Revit knowledge is considered an asset!
• Proven experience in the Curtain Wall industry including the execution of Shop/Fabrication drawings from start to finish
• Must be self-motivated, well organized and detail-oriented
• Min 5 years of experience in the Curtain Wall and Unitized industry is a must
