Dog Walker Jobs

Fur Babies Pet Care is looking for a part time dog walker and a part time pet sitter starting September with possibility of starting sooner.

JOB REQUIRES HAVING YOUR OWN VEHICLE AND LICENSE AND DRIVING TO MULTIPLE HOUSES WITHIN KITCHENER/WATERLOO

MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO AT LEAST 6 MONTHS OR MORE.

Dog Walking:

This is a daytime position with most work between the hours of 10am-3pm Monday-Friday. Scheduling can be somewhat flexible (i.e., to work around school schedule or another part time)

Qualifications:

• You are dependable and prompt and can be counted on to adhere to a walking schedule. Reliability is of the upmost importance.
• Ensure that dogs are leashed and under control at all times during walks
• You are an independent and able to plan walking routes, requiring little direction, but do take instruction well.
• Follow specific instructions provided by dog owners regarding their pets' care and behavior
• Experience working with dogs and walking dogs an asset.
• You enjoy walking in all weather
• Walks are all on-leash
• Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly
• Walks are all door-to-door - you are not transporting any dogs in your vehicle
• Smart Phone required in order to send photos and updates to clients from our app.
• Monitor dogs for any signs of distress or illness and report any concerns to the owner
• Animal First Aid an asset or willing to obtain.
• Walks are all private - general one or two walks

Pet Sitting:

MUST BE FLEXIBLE AS SOME VISITS ARE MORNING, AFTERNOON, EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS. WE ALSO OFFER OVERNIGHTS IN YOUR HOME OR CLIENTS HOME (TO BE DISCUSSED)

Qualifications:

• Feed and provide water to animals.
• Provide basic medical care, such as administering medications or cleaning wounds. (If requested)
• Animal First Aid an asset or willing to obtain.
• Experience with dogs, cats and other small animals
• Provide companionship to animals.
• Keep records of services provided and any changes in the animal's condition.
• Provide care for animals in the pet sitter's home or in the pet owner's home.
• Clean up after animals.
• Smart Phone required in order to send photos and updates to clients from our app.
• You are dependable and prompt and can be counted on to adhere to drop in/visits schedule
• Walk, and play with animals.

Requirements:

• Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be licensed
• Must have a working smart phone
• Must have personal or professional experience with dogs
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• As you will be entering clients homes, a criminal record check will be required.
• Must be physically fit and able to walk in all weather conditions.
• Must have personal or professional experience with cats and other small animals
• Must have a valid police check or be willing to obtain one
• Must be comfortable walking strong dogs

Part-time hours: 10-15 per week

Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
