The duties of a freight broker dispatcher typically involve managing and coordinating the movement of freight shipments between shippers and carriers. Here are some common responsibilities of a freight broker dispatcher:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Carrier Selection: Identify and select appropriate carriers or transportation companies to move the freight based on factors like the nature of the cargo, destination, availability, and carrier reputation.
2. Negotiation: Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to secure the most cost-effective and efficient transportation options for the shipments.
3. Shipment Coordination: Coordinate the pickup, transit, and delivery of freight shipments, ensuring that all necessary paperwork, permits, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
4. Routing and Scheduling: Determine the most efficient routes and schedules for transporting freight, taking into account factors like distance, delivery deadlines, carrier capacity, and any specific customer requirements.
5. Communication: Maintain regular communication with carriers, shippers, and customers to provide updates on shipment status, address any issues or concerns, and ensure a smooth flow of information throughout the transportation process.
6. Problem Resolution: Handle any problems or disruptions that arise during the transportation process, such as delays, equipment issues, or changes in shipment requirements, by finding alternative solutions and making necessary adjustments.
7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all freight transactions, including contracts, shipping documents, invoices, and proof of delivery, to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and enable efficient tracking and tracing of shipments.
8. Freight Tracking: Utilize tracking systems and technologies to monitor the progress of shipments, ensuring that they are on schedule and reach their destination as planned. Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status of their shipments.

Job Requirements:
-5 or more years proven success in the freight Broker industry as a dispatcher
-Professional and well spoken individual
-Team player that is also able to work autonomously (self starter)
