Job Description
Position Summary
The Director IT, Systems Development and Maintenance is accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of application system initiatives in order to provide superior information systems allowing the College to maintain operations and meet the goals of the Strategic Plan. The Director is also accountable for directing and planning for the development, integration, implementation, administration, monitoring and maintenance of College database management solutions, to ensure the effective delivery of services to staff, students, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for conducting analysis of client proposals and requirements, from both a business and technical perspective, to ensure integration throughout the College, and conformance with the College IT Standards and software solutions. The incumbent is also accountable for the development of College strategies and initiatives to ensure that the software solutions and services effectively support the College requirements. This is achieved through leading and identification of business and technology opportunities for service improvement and innovation. This roledevelops recommendations on new initiatives to increase operational efficiencies to College senior management, relevant governance committees and College stakeholders.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a 4-Year Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology or another specialty relevant to the position.
A minimum of 13 years of progressively responsible experience providing leadership in leading IT projects, IT Strategies, and providing IT Services.
Experience coordinating, monitoring, and following up on client IT requests and projects; facilitating discussions as well as negotiating solutions; and preparing briefing material and project management documents.
Experience in leading change, such as the transition to digital services, for IT projects including its impacts on people, processes, and technology.
Experience in implementing improvement processes in domains such as Project Management, Cloud Strategy, Systems architecture and design, and Resources Management.
Experience in the development of strategic business plans.
Experience in managing human and financial resources.
Experience working collaboratively with business partners to understand, analyze and articulate business and/or project requirements and recommend solutions; working with teams of technical staff and interacting with business units to achieve results; and experience managing projects, including all project management life cycle phases.
Other Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritize work.
  • Ability to provide technical and/or functional guidance to staff and/or students.
  • Strong and broad understanding of the various components of enterprise IT solutions including networks; enterprise and web applications; storage and server infrastructure; data architecture and services; information security; software development; various client devices and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps/SecDevOps methodologies.
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to a temporary remote work location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college’s Telework Policy.
Office work environment. Occasional travel to attend project meetings (Tri-Campus).
Salary & Terms
  • Hours per week: 37.5
  • Admin Group: Pay Band 14: $117,597 - $156,795 per annum, commensurate on education and experience. In addition to the salary, the position is eligible for pay for performance.
