As the IT Systems Specialist, you will provide key project and operational support to Arla Foods Canada on manufacturing, ERP, warehouse and security systems, with emphasis on continuous improvement to enhance and optimize the performance of the business.

About the role

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will:

• Telecom system/infrastructure and security systems (such as proxy cards, cameras, and alarm system)
• Support various business units through ad-hoc reporting, IT support, and projects
• Recommend improvements to business system integration, processes, and procedures
• Lead and/or participate in local Production IT related projects (eg. Wonderware, PLCs)
• Provide support to other Arla companies/divisions as agreed to with Manager
• Ensure alignment of IT Solutions between local Global IT strategies
• Adhere to relevant change management procedures and documentation practices including BPP, SOP, and other project based documentation
• Liaise with other departments to ensure communication of plans and support requirements
• Support the Dairy and Warehouse Operations including Production IT Systems, Servers, Databases, Scales, Scanners, Client PCs, Warehousing Equipment, and Printers
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot: Communication between clients/devices, servers, and databases; LAN/WAN networks including routers/switches with ACLs, Firewalls, VLANs, and Wireless components; VMware Hosts/Instances. Configure and maintain Virtual Machines ensuring full redundancy/fail-overs and backups

Who are you?

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience in working with Enterprise Networking, SQL Relational Databases, Windows Server operating systems, and Virtualization technologies. It would be an asset if you also have previous experience working with Active Directory, SAP ERP, and PowerBI Reporting. Experience providing IT support to Manufacturing and Distribution operations is also preferred.

You will have a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or the equivalent business experience.

You are someone who is customer service focused, with a drive to ensure maximum uptime for all critical business ERP and Production Application systems. You have exceptional skills in supporting and communicating to end users, with a consistent continuous improvement mindset and focus as you apply your strong organizational and project management skills and creative problem solving skills.
