Job Description

We are excited to be hiring a Digital Strategist to join our team!


Founded in 2016, Search + Gather (S+G) is a passionate digital marketing agency that specializes in helping startups, scale-ups, SMBs and enterprise businesses grow. For the Digital Strategist role at S+G, we are looking for someone with 1+ years of experience and knowledge in SEM / PPC for paid search and social platforms, digital marketing, tracking and reporting, and client communication. We also want someone who is up for the challenges and opportunities that come with working for a scaleup, growth company.


Schedule: Full time

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 annually, (dependent on experience)

Office Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (remote first)

Daily Responsibilities:


  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for our clients to discuss account performance, new ideas and next steps to help them achieve the best return on investment.
  • Reviewing and analyzing campaign performance data (e.g., within Google Analytics (GA4), Salesforce, HubSpot, etc) to develop actionable insights that assist with strategic planning, KPI improvement, and growth.
  • Monitor platform updates to anticipate any potential issues for our clients and share these with the team.
  • Collaborating with our Digital Designers to develop creative ads that speak to the clients' brand and audience.
  • Working on SEM / PPC for paid ad platforms including Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Amazon Ads, Google Ads and Google Analytics to build new campaigns, optimize existing campaigns and improve performance for our clients.
  • Developing positive relationships that reflect true partnership in achieving the objectives of the client’s business.
  • Help to grow startups, scaleups and enterprise clients through clever and strategic digital marketing.


What We’re Looking For:


  • Experience managing multiple clients and projects in a data-driven environment.
  • An analytical mindset showing accuracy and proficiency with numbers and data, with an ability to build reports and exhibit confidence when presenting findings.
  • Strong communication skills both internally and client facing with a friendly demeanour and the ability to clearly deliver rationale for strategic approaches.
  • The ability to accept constructive feedback and apply changes where required.
  • 1+ year of experience working on SEM and PPC for paid search and social ad platforms (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc) with experience managing campaigns from A-Z including creation, tracking and tagging setup, optimizing budgets, and reporting on campaign performance.
  • Adaptability with a strong desire to continuously learn and develop your skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to collaborate on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment with a continued emphasis on project detail.
  • Takes initiative in leveraging continuous learning and resources to keep ahead of industry trends.
  • Critical thinking skills with the capacity to develop unique approaches to problems and projects.
  • 1+ year of experience using Google Analytics, setting up conversion goals and UTM parameters for tracking.
  • *Must be eligible to work full-time in Canada*
  • Drive to continuously grow our S+G client roster and team through providing exceptional customer service with a focus on nurturing relationships and proactive problem solving.
  • An interest and proactivity in setting up tracking and integrations to collect campaign performance data, including exposure to Google Tag Manager and Facebook Pixels.


It’s a bonus if you have experience in…


  • Developing recommendations for landing pages and ads, as well as utilizing A/B tests to drive performance.
  • Programmatic advertising platforms (e.g. StackAdapt, DV360).
  • A client/account management role with a proven ability to enhance partner experiences and build strong rapport through effective communication.
  • Task management/Gantt chart software (e.g. Asana, Monday.com).
  • Data visualization softwares such as DataStudio or Tableau.
  • Working in a fast paced agency environment handling clients from various industries.
