Job Description
BIMM is booming, so we’re looking for a Design Researcher to join our team.

Who we are

BIMM is a Toronto-based agency that lives at the intersection of data, technology, and creativity to provide clients with high-performing campaigns and digital products that shape connected customer experiences. We’ve helped our clients implement fully integrated CRM customer journeys, built robust digital experiences, and created national loyalty programs with decades of experience in sectors of automotive, financial, telco and retail.

We are creative realists, which means our ideas and solutions are grounded in the realities of our clients’ business. We believe big ideas are nothing without big results (and flawless execution); high-performing agencies deliver high-performing campaigns, products, and experiences; and the best solutions happen when we collaborate with clients as partners.

Who we’re looking for

The Design Researcher is a fundamental part of the design process, with the goal of understanding user needs and behaviour through observed scenarios. Designing the research, moderating and collecting results, analyzing the results, and converting the data into meaningful product design guidance is critical to the role. The end goal is to help provide sound research based on real users who want to use the product we are trying to build.

This person will be apart of the Experience Design department offering end-to-end product and service design, with in-house practices including: Research, UX, UI, and Content

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Data & Analytics team to inform research and test plans, and define key measurement tactics.
  • Provide Product and Design teams with research context, perspective, and recommendations on usability.
  • Conduct appropriate research activities to answer client business needs and questions, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods (unmoderated, moderated, observation, interviews, ethnography, surveys, etc).
  • Communicate research findings through unbiased, compelling written reports and client presentations.
  • Contribute your research and perspective through the entire product sprint cycle, from planning to implementation to post-release.
  • Draft screener questions and criteria based on the needs of the research.
  • Partner with all streams of the digital team (including PO, PM, UX, UI, and Tech) to understand product goals and strategies, and include them where required during test planning.

Requirements

  • Highly organized with superior written communication skills
  • A willingness to learn, take feedback, ask for help, and support teammates.
  • Comfortable using popular testing platforms such as: usertesting.com, userzoom Optimizely, Appinio, etc.
  • Comfortable with quantitative analysis and discussing data needs
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in design research

Nice to have

  • Experience working within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Experience with using Figma, Mural, Sketch and/or Miro.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Suite: Confluence, Jira.
  • Experience working within an agency or consultancy setting.
