Cyber Threat Response Senior Associate

A career in Information Security, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to develop and support our internal security technologies and services across the entire global and local PwC network. You’ll focus on being the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing information technology including hardware, software, and networks that enhances security of internal information and protect our firms intellectual assets.
Purpose-led work you’ll be part of
As a Cyber Threat Response Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conduct monitoring, and perform in-depth analysis of Security Operations Center (SOC) oriented alerts
• Brief peers and above on current Threat Response themes
• Help update and maintain a repository of self created security alerting rules
• Serve as an escalation point for lower level analysts
• Participate in long term security operation projects with peers
• Stay up to date with current adversary tactics and apply this knowledge to internal operational countermeasures

Experiences And Skills You’ll Use To Solve

• Developing an awareness of operations and services in an enterprise organization
• Possessing intimate attention to detail and capability to execute tasks aligned to a CSIRT with autonomy
• Understanding current cyber adversary or malware landscape;
• Threat hunting at an enterprise scale,
• Understanding incident response principles or related technical domains and applying them in the context of a broader understanding of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT) and related systems and processes
• Endpoint forensics (Windows, macOS or Linux),
• Demonstrating foundational knowledge in computer networking, operating systems (both Windows and Unix based operating systems), and virtualization (cloud and on-premise)
• Understanding of investigative theory and industry-leading practices for effective analysis
• Malware analysis,
• Information Security, Digital Forensics Incident Response (DFIR), and penetration testing training and/or related certifications would be an asset but are not required
• Working within a security operation center (SOC) context, using intermediate SOC/Incident Response core skills including security event review, log analysis, host analysis, email analysis, and network analysis.
• Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks.
• Building effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
• Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain frameworks
• Possessing a working understanding of one or more of the following:
• Penetration testing,
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
• Cyber threat intelligence
• Threat response or intrusion analysis,
