Part-Time, Contract (4 months)

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for a Coordinator, Accessibility Research! Reporting to the Manager, Stakeholder Relations & Executive Operations, the Coordinator, Accessibility Research will focus on CNIB’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Belonging strategies. The research coordinator will champion and lead a research project to gather key findings which will enable CNIB in BC to implement a long-term strategy that ensures our programming is accessible and inclusive of the diverse communities we serve.


Your impact at CNIB


  • Build partnerships with all teams across the organization and our community. This may include developing tools, frameworks, advising, and consultation around the topics researched
  • Collect demographic data on the community CNIB serves.
  • Work with internal staff to embed accessibility and inclusion recommendations from outreach consultation findings on a final report.
  • Develop and implement a plan for outreach consultations to gain additional insights and perspectives on existing accessibility gaps in the programs and services we provide
  • Facilitate regular meetings and monitor its effectiveness through ongoing evaluation and continual improvement


Requirements


Who You Are:


  • Data analysis and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships with all levels of staff


We want to hear from you if you have:


  • Being fluent in more than one language would be considered an asset
  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related field (Human Resources, Business, Diversity Studies) and/or equivalent experience
  • Lived experience and personal understanding of equity-seeking concerns (for example: systemic racism, discrimination) an asset
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset
  • More than 1 year experience designing and administering frameworks and policies that support accessibility initiatives
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset


Work Environment


  • This is a hybrid role that will require some in-office and some remote work
